I thought I might offer some advice for anyone else who collects these planes.

I realize your trying to stick with a specific brand but have you ever checked out the models and die-cast at :

www.historicaviation.com  ?

The have a couple of BBD not certain what brand they are, probably could find out by email.
They have a 1/48 scale Memphis Belle I'm looking at with awesome detail!! 25" wing span, die-cast Bet shipping is about the price of the plane! ;D

Actually, I was trying to stick with 1:18 more than the brand.  Even though I didn't find a plane that suits me, I'll take that Prop they're selling!  Thanks for the link!  8)

The Mustang is one of the few 1:18 Ultimate Soldier models that I've actually seen here in the UK but I've never really looked closely at it. It does seem a shame that the company did not take a bit of extra care whith the design of this model but sadly this is not uncommon in the model world. Of the three 1:48 Spitfire IX kits available (one from a very well respected manufaturer) not one is anything like correct. With regard to the Corgi 1:32 dicast, here in the UK the Swastikas on the kill markings are correctly represented.

I've never even seen a 1:18 kit in Hungary :o
The biggest I've got is a Revell 1:32 Spitfire (no surprise there!).
It seems odd that there are so many errors on a large kit like that :( But hey Kevin the Spit makes a great centerpiece ;)
