The rumors of Bin Laden's suicide are really a virus.

Just an obvious virus heading -

others include 'Schwarzenegger found hung' , etc

There are so many I'm amazed ANYONE ever gets caught out with these  ::)

Theory:  There are more annoying e-mails spread about computer viruses than there are actual virii.

I once got an emai from my accountant warning me about the jdbgmgr.exe virus.  He was not aware that it was a hoax and sent the same "warning" to all of his clients.

I wrote back and showed him that it was a hoax and he had to email all of his clients again to tell them that he had been fooled.

Any time I get one of these warnings I just google it.  One of the major security firms can usually confirm whether it's a hoax.

Don't even have to.  Usually Snopes.com and/or Symantec has it in no time.

Would you believe about 1996 I was nearly longing for a virus just to see what they were like. Then I got one & was surprised (& lucky) to find out it was easy to clean & had done little damage (the 'i love you' virus) Since then I have never been without an updated antiV. Until recently I was getting upwards of 1 every 20 seconds into my mailbox - the only way was to delete the email addy as it was a nightmare to keep clearing out the mailbox.

We all learn & hopefully will never stop ;)

No, sir.  Actually, I didn't even realize it until now...I haven't had one of those in ages!
