All Your Base are Belong to Us

Postby Scorpiоn » Sun Jul 25, 2004 2:39 am

Where in the world did this come from?  I think it came from a game, but no one knows ehere exactly, it really bothers me.  Even non nerds know this!  Why am I being left out?! >:(

I've never heard the expression but being an old fogey that's not surprising. Take your pick. http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&q=All+Your+Base+are+Belong+to+Us

I'm rather worried by the poor use of English ::)

think it originally came from a VERY bad translated  videogame, called Zero Wing.

The sentence has kind of become an icon in the gamingworld  :)

Finally.  Mystery solved. :) Zero Wing?  Glad to say I've never heard of it.

The reason I ask this, is I've been hearing this strange little saying more and more at school (before Summer Break, that is) even by non-nerds, since I stay away from nerds, or try to at least.  I was looking through my audio files of Command & Conquer Generals: Zero Hour and listening to a lot of stuff EA didn't use.  Then, in a very angry, Arabic voice, I hear: All you base are belong to us! I just had to know, I couldn't take the mystery anymore. ::) ;)

Zero Wing....!
Fantastic shoot-'em-up game... 8)...!
If anyone can remember "R-Type" for the Sinclair Spectrum, (like me!), you will see the similarity... ;D...!

For a blast from the past, try it out here...>>>

http://www.romnation.net/srv/emulators.html

1) Select your "EMULATOR", (in this case Genesis) and download it.
2) Select your "ROM" from the list, (in this case "Zero Wing"
3) Pop it into the ROM folder.
4) Play the game.
5) Imagine it is 1984...... 8)....!

..go on. Try it, you'll like it... ;D...!

LOL...!

Cheers all...!

Paul.

P.S. In England the machine was call the "Megadrive"... ;)...!
