POLICE CHIEF CAR STOLEN BY INMATE

An inmate at the Fulton City jail decided to go for a little joy ride.

Unfortunately, he decided to steal the police chief's personal vehicle for his jaunt.

Now, 33 year old Preston J. Stokes is facing more charges.

Stokes was on work detail for shoplifting and petit larceny when he stole the car Wednesday afternoon.

Lee County deputies stopped the car on Palmetto Road about seven last night.

Stokes adds jail escape and felony grand larceny to his charges

this prob goes into the think before you act column. Or the dont always pick the first thing you see one:)

What a bonehead!
That is nearly as dumb as the mechanic in Oxford that had the Chief of Polices car for repairs and was spotted driving it around town, one of the officers said "Your car is looking v.nice sir!" a brief flurry of discussion resulted in the mechanic doing bird
