Obviously, you don't live in America... ::) :)

Martha Stewart was real big on decorating and stuff... Had her own tv show, the whole shebang. I think last year was it? She got caught of insider trading in the stock market, which is apparently illegal. Now she's got all these charges against her... It's hard to explain. lol. :)

It wasn't so much the insider trading but the fact that she lied about it. The whole insider trading thing is a funny law.

And, BTW, its 5 months hard time, 5 months house arrest. I'd have given her 10 of each.

I wish I could say I had nothing against the cop mentality but I do.  Nothing personal, Deputy, but she was railroaded.

This doesn't mean she did nothing wrong, she did.  The government couldn't convict her for what she did, insider trading, so they got  her for lying about it

There is a string of precendents for this:

Richard Nixon didn't authorize the Watergate break in, he instructed his inferiors to cover it up.

Bill Clinton had sexual relations with an intern in the White House - no crime.  But he lied under oath about it.

The government couldn't convict Marth Stewart of insider trading so they convicted her of lying about it.
