I'm hoping to be an aerospace engineer someday, and I am looking for a good book on Flight. I love all those articles on howstuffworks.com and already have the first book but I would like more of the guts and bolts stuff.

Any good books that explains a lot about flight, propulsion, aerodynamics, design, wing designs, VTOL, Vectoring, and all the other good stuff (especially explinations of military designs and stuff like that). If it has a lot of pictures and diagrams even better because I'm a visual learner ;D, but if not, I am pretty good at reading all the technical stuff

thanks

;D I smell beans!!!

Try http://www.aircadets.org/acps.html and look at the titles under Cadet Training. They are not super technical, but give you a good outline on the subjects, and can be downloaded for free ;)

I forgot just how good the ATC training was. Passing those exams helped a great deal in my future career in civil aviation. I don't expect it's quite the same nowadays but the engineering certificates were recognised by the CAA & saved me taking the civil equivalents.

I can recommend the book Understanding Flight, (David & Scott Eberhardt) it's a pure aerodynamics book, excellent for those who want to learn more about the subject  :)
