News of an EX SimV member...

Postby Triple_7 » Mon Jul 05, 2004 5:01 am

For anyone who knew N10387CG...

I was checking my email a little while ago and was a bit shocked by the news i recieved.  In an email from N10387CGs mother.  About a month ago him and some friends were in a bad car accident.  2 were killed.  He was one of them.   There was not much info other than she had been looking through some of his old notebooks and papers and found a list of email addresses for friends.  She emailed to all to let anyone know what had happened for anyone who might not.

I had met N10387CG while playing pool on yahoo a long time ago.  I was just starting to get an interest in flight sim and was looking for some help.  While playing pool I randomly asked if anyone knew of a good website for FS.  He was the only one who replyed.  He had told me of this site and the forums full of help.  I never became a member but ocasionaly browsed the forum for any info i could use.  N and I talked ocasionaly over messenger (mainly about FS) and was surprised to find out how much we had in common.  But one day he said he was tired of the sim and was giving it up.  I never heard from him again.

He was 16 and lived from 10-3-1987 to June 2004.    One thing we did not know about each other was that we shared the same birthday, October 3, 1987.  It had never went through my head untill now as to what the 10387 stood for.

One thing I have learned from this is not to take life for granted.  It can end as quickly as it begins :-/ :'(

This is sad news indeed Triple_7. :(

I hope you replied to N's mother & told her just what his friendship meant to you. Sharing the same birthday is one of those unexplained coincidences. Having lost a dear nephew in a car accident I have some idea of what his parents are going through. It's tragic when a young life is cut short in its prime. If you do contact her again you might like to pass on my sympathy. I'm sure this goes for many members here.

I hate to sound callous, but I THINK I remember him.  (It's hard with so many members that you correspond with almost daily, ya know?  Especially with such a hard to remember ID...)

Sad in any event.  Please pass along my condolences through this difficult time.

:(
Great edit, Bob.

There have been several 'N' s here over time ... & some of them have chopped & changed their username.

Always tragic to see a life cut short. My deepest condolences to his family.

Ugh!

Life should be just starting at that age, not ending.

My best wishes to family and friends.

I remember him. He had many posts here and you could tell this was a great and interesting hobby to him.

I can ONLY imagine what his Mother/Parents are going through and wished I had a magic phrase or word to make it not so painfull; but I don't. Only to say, he was a fine young man and will be sorely missed here! I am sure he was a blessing to his Mother, and in God's good time, the pain of this loss will turn into bitter sweet memories, and with more time, the bittersweet won't be so bitter.

God Bless you Mom, and my deepest heartfelt sympathies!
