Autocomplete

Postby Scorpiоn » Tue Jul 06, 2004 12:09 am

How can one manage to clear out the history of the little autocpmlete function?  I've never much cared for it, and it gives me a head ache most of the time.

While it's supposed to turn goo into google.com, I usually end up with ggogle.comn because I type super fast with the hunt and peck method and can't look at the screen.

Or at the very least, is there a way to turn it off?

Grrrrrrrrrr after all that it was dead easy.

Right click your Internet Explorer Icon and choose

Properties/Content/ and in the lower panel there is an autocomplete button.... ajust settings there.

I'm an AOL user (for the next week or two, anyway, I hate it) and it still does it there.

???

Any ideas?

It's probably somewhere in your AOL browser preferences.

One question though, why are people still using IE and AOL's browser?  lol  It sucks!
Great edit, Bob.

Google it.

Whoo

Postby Scorpiоn » Tue Jul 06, 2004 7:28 pm

I dunno, AOL really does suck.  The "news" is bogus, with tips like, "Top News: To get good grades, you should be prepared.", it expensive etc. etc.  I've finally convinced my dad to pay the extra three dollars and switch to SBC Yahoo DSL. ::)

Hagar, I used to do that, but I got spyware and adware on my PC before, and it really slowed down IE.  I've gotten rid of it, but I'm in the habit of using AOL now.  Pity, since BBC World Service used to be my homepage. :'(

just a quick tip.....the best tool IMHO for removing spyware is Ad-aware 6.0 its a payware program but theres still the function of scanning your computer and removing the spyware on it.. if you so wish you can purhcase the full program which will allow u to have constant survelliance for incoming spyware as well.. its not limited to 30 days or anything so works for as long as you have it downloaded but cant remember website for it

even if ya dont think u have any spyware on your comp youd be suprised what this program can pick up :D

so now theres no excuse for using the AOL browser :D
