Just totalled up all the costs for college and well, does anyone else get that feeling in their stomach when they realise they have to part ways with more cash than you really want to or can afford

Yeah, I know the feeling.  Not only do I still need to finish my undergrad work, when I get to graduate school the cost is going to increase about 10x.  It almost makes me want to shed to tears.   :'(

Don't see the reason why you would rush yourself into college. I graduated from highschool some 3 years ago and have been working since. 1 or 2 more years I can start my aviation training without getting a loan - and that's a huge relief for me.

My training will cost some 50.000 dollars, I'll never be able to get a loan - and even if I did...it would take me some 30 years to pay it off

I know a couple of people here and my mum is the same, that think i am no good with money, and that i spend money i dont have. But when i have to i can save witht he best of em.
Thanks guys:) i dont know how much time i will have to stick around but i will pop in during the time i have free i am sure.

I seem to have been blessed by having my parents help me, though i don't think college costs as much in Belgium as it does in some other countries.

And now i am considering moving to Sweden. If Nexus makes such a comfortable living by working after highschool I should be very comfortable with my bachelors degree in chemistry...  ;D

Anyway, good for you Nexus, and best of luck to all the others....  ;)

Your not the only one, mine are trying to get me my Bachlor's Degree completly debt free.  They convinced me to go to the local university instead of going out of state (which I wanted to do) because its cheaper (and because they wanted me around)-the University of Oregon is in my home town.  I just finished my first year and they payed for everything my scholarship didn't cover.  They plan on doing that until I finish and head to graduate school (I'll be taking out loans for that  ;)).
