Common, I think we all have them. I always things that I do before getting on an airplane. The first of which is the night before I sim the flight in FS (all of the commercial flights I have been on have been in the morning) Once I am actually getting on the plane, I must, and I have been doing this since I can remember, I must pat the side of the plane with my hand before entering. I have never forgotten to do this. ;D
So what are some of your traditions?

On a commercial flight, drink as much (liquor) as I can in the bar closest to the gate.
Wait until absolute last boarding call - even then people are still in the jetway - and "hurry up and wait".

Buy a pack of gum, stare and drool at a attractive female flight attendent, if any are preasent, and yell at the pilot on the way out.

It used to be trying to either seduce the stewardesses (I know its not PC), but I only succeeded once.
Then I took up terrifying nervous passengers with lots of facts and figures about dying and generally being horrible

Nowadays I just enjoy the ride

I usually try to fly it on the computer and make some mental notes, just to occupy a crazy mind...:-)

Lol, me too though I don't think I've ever yelled at the pilot ::)

Also I like getting the window seat so no matter where I am, first class or the very back, as long as I get window I am a happy camper ;D Also I don't like flying at night, over an ocean, or over the midwest. (All the squares!) No offense to those of you from the MW :)

i dont really have a tradition.
I like to get the window where possible but on long flights where they ask to have the shades closed its pointless anyway, but i just get on sit in my seat and keep my mouth shut, i will never call a flight attendant unless its an emergency. They are not waiters despite what people think and i have legs so walking to the galley is no problem. I will read a book watch the IFE if there is any, or listen to music, depending on who is sitting in the next seat i may talk if they start up a conversation, but i also know alot of people dont want to talk so i wont bother a person.
Before my flying lessons though i would kiss my chain round my neck for luck though.
