Something huge is going on locally....

Albany 1, the medflight helo, was just dispatched to land in the parking lot of a mall a few miles north of here.  Then Lifeguard 12, the NY State Police chopper was also dispatched to the same location.

THEN (as if this isn't enough), Albany 1 was advised that a THIRD helicopter is inbound to the same location.  

And just a moment ago a FOURTH helicopter was sent out.

What the.....all they're saying is it's for patients burned in a chemical fire.  Might have to go explore.

will be waiting for more info, lets hope its not as serious as it sounds. Possible terrorist attack practise?? we have them in bristol once or twice a year

That was my first thought too, Craig, but it turns out that about 35 minutes ago a fire broke out at one of the structures in the business park there.

Strewth, chemical fires are always bad news. I'm sure you heard about the wee explosion in Glasgow the other day....
Lets just hope no-one is serious hurt or killed...

Hope nobody is seriously hurt

There was a chemical fire not to far from where I live the other day. Somebody had mixed two volitile acids together creating a cloud a orange smoke. The whole area had to be evacuated. Of course this was right in the middle of the evening rush hour and it just happened to by right by a busy commuter rail line. Train service was closed for several hours. Nobody was hurt. Thankfully I live 30km away from the area so I didn't have to worry.
