The end is near

Or at least it is for Westlands. I have been informed that the new Lynx is being left for the politicians to decide about (people who have no real idea about this project) the news isnt good and its very close to being canceled and if it is westlands is gone with it apparently.

Looks like it's going to be another Avro Canada.

Craig knows more about this than me. I doubt that it would be the end of Westland as a company although they might need to curtail their activities & lay off staff. I'm sure they have more irons in the fire than this particular contract. If not, that is the fault of the management. No company should rely purely on government contracts in order to survive. ::)

I'm afraid this is nothing new as anyone working on government contracts should be well aware of. Many of my friends have lost their jobs in the past through similar bungles. Many were highly skilled tradesmen & some never worked in the industry again. Nobody seems to learn from history & still it goes on. I sympathise but as a taxpayer I strongly object to the appalling waste of MY money. ::)
