I can understand firing one at a time in fairly rapid succession, but why would a nailgun have a fully automatic setting? ???

To ensure that it stays together.

Or, in this case, to prevent you from losing your hat.

Seems a bit strange to me that a fellow could shoot himself multiple times in the BACK OF THE HEAD! ???  However "mysterious" the circumstances, wouldn't you expect him to have nails in his face, or at least in his chest?  Its not as if you hold the nailgun behind your head whilst using it . . .

All the years I have used or been around others using nail guns, never have I seen or heard of one firing that many times in succsesion! Sure I have used some that might double fire, but nail guns have safteys, which mean you have to lift the gun from the surface between firing. Even with the saftey device removed for it to fire like that is near to impossible. I know because we tried to get one to fire like that at work today  (not at each other) the only way we could was to manually hold the saftey open and pull the trigger!
And as far as it firing upon dropping it , it didn't. Anyway we tried every possible way to get one too fire in rapid succession to no avail???
Too me sounds like it was no accident!
Lucky man!!!
