I THINK SO!!
"I'll Have 10,000 Chocolate Bars to Go, Please" :o
LONDON - A woman with an apparently insatiable sweet tooth stunned staff at a British shop when she bought more than 10,000 chocolate bars and had them loaded into her chauffeur-driven limousine.
The woman asked staff at a north London Woolworths branch for every single Mars bar in stock -- 10,656 of them packed in 220 boxes -- and paid for them in cash with 50 pound notes, a Woolworths spokesman said on Wednesday.
The total bill was 2,131 pounds, $3,828.
"It was very, very strange but nobody thought to ask her why she wanted so many," the spokesman said.
"It would usually take us a month to shift that number of chocolate bars," he added. "Perhaps she has a sweet tooth."
Chocolate anybody? ;D

I read about this in the morning paper & immediately assumed that profit is involved. Nobody could possibly want that amount of Mars bars for their own use. She is most likely selling them on at a huge mark up. Personally I hate this sort of thing as it defeats the object of the original offer. You can't blame the shop & they probably couldn't believe their luck but I don't think it should be allowed.

PS. What it doesn't point out in the article is that the Mars bars were on a special "5 for

Maybe she lives someplace where you can't get a Mars bar or only comes into London once a year.

Perhaps a party? One heck of a party though.

I'm not sure there are too many innocent motives to her defence.

Hi Ben. Most large manufacturers won't sell directly to private customers. There's usually a condition plainly marked on the packaging of special offers that they shouldn't be split & sold separately. Most shops would restrict the amount sold on special offer to a certain number per customer.
I worked out that it would take 1 person eating 1 bar per day over 29 years to get through that lot.

Not likely. I believe the Mars company also makes Snickers.

I always thought Snickers is a stupid name for a chocolate bar.

I prefer the old name of Marathon.

Hey, if it tastes good, who cares about the name!

Well, it seems the name has come full circle. The latest trendy product is called the Snickers Marathon bar. I can't think why they changed it in the first place. LOL
