Battle of Britain Movie

I just bought a copy of B.O.B. on DVD.  I watched the first half last night.   I know they used several real aircraft in the movie as well as fake ones for air raid sequences.  But the ones you see exploding in air or going into the channel I'm guessing were models but they seem to have some good size to them.  Especially the ones crashing into the water.  Does anyone know what scale these planes were?

2/3rds I believe.  Quite a few of them exist in small aircraft museums.  They are made of fibreglass and very accurate.  My local museum swapped three of the things for a real Spitfire 18 months back which they are currently restoring, so they hold some value.

I read in an article about BOB that they were in fact 2/3 scale models.

I think the ones Will is talking about are full-sized replicas used for static shots. Many of these have been used as replacement gate guardians allowing the genuine aircraft previously used to be restored to flying condition. The R/C models (Ju 87 etc.) used for aerial sequences were smaller but still quite a decent size. I remember seeing some displayed in the cinema foyer when I first saw the film soon after it was released. I have no idea of the scale but I shall endeavour to find out.

PS. This film did more for the now-thriving UK warbird restoration industry than any other event since WWII. Without it many of the warbirds on the current display circuit would have disappeared for ever.
