Who is "Rocket Man"?

Postby denishc » Thu Apr 29, 2004 9:43 pm

I heard on the radio that there is this guy in England called "Rocket Man".  Apparently he straps a rocket pack to his back and launches himself into the air.  Last week he set an all time personal best height of 40+ feet.
My question is how does he land?  Parachute?  Cought by a big net?  Falls on a stack of mattresses or what?

I'd guess he's either a member of The Dangerous Sports Club, or a lunatic!

Or perhaps William Shattner.  ;D

The guy's a nut case. As for landing I assume he doesn't use all his fuel in getting up and uses some to slow his decent.

I have a very good friend who lives only a couple of hundred yards from where this happened. And she knew nothing about it intill I told her. :P :o

Oh, I found the guy!!

Thanks Fly2e for the link, that must be the guy!!
See how bad the radio report was, they said his height was  47 feet not 47 METERS!
Kinda looks like the rocket pack used in that James Bond movie, "Thunderball".  Woodlouse must be right about how he lands.
"RocketMan" must be for hire as an attraction.  Got any events coming up where we can use him?
