Me thinks they are talking about Caffine in its PURE form ... and if swallowed it would be harmful.
Probable effects : Heart palpatations ... possibly Attack.
                            Possibly increase in blood pressure.
                            Shaking and loss of conciousness.

All in all like most things we eat/drink ... harmful in large or concentrated quantities.

This stuff is also addictive, although weakly.  Long term intake of 4-5 mugs per day can cause symptoms similar to cocaine withdrawal if stopped suddenly.

One reason I drink very little coffee. Mind you, I believe tea also contains caffeine. You could say I'm addicted to tea.

PS. I never saw the point of decaffeinated coffee. Surely it can't be coffee without caffeine.  What a strange world we live in. LOL

I won't give the name here it is far to complicated - even for me!  ;D

I to, cannot see the point of coffee or coke without caffeine in it.  I don't believe cocaine has caffeine in it but rather caffeine can mimic the effects cocaine to a lesser extent.  That is why coca-cola chose caffeine to replace the illegal cocaine.

Who here has heard of sugar free red bull?  One of those energy drinks with tonnes of caffeine, lots of those 'super-vitamins' and no sugar.  Hell if your going to get yourself high, you might as well go the whole hog and not miss out on sugar.

Actually, I believe they physically extract the caffeine from the coffee. They then sell it to people like Coke and Pepsi.

In the case of root beer, I can't tell the difference between regular and caffine free.

Actually, all root beer is naturally caffeine free.  The few that have it included are additive root beers.  Barq's, for example, is not real root beer, merely a concoction like Coca-Cola that tastes the same.  IBC root beer, however, is actually brewed the same way it has been for generations.  That is what gives root beer the bubbles similar to real beer, instead of the "added" taste you get with other carbonated drinks.
