Deputy, this one's from your neck of the woods.  Have you heard about this one?  I tend to agree that cops take things a bit too far these days, but this is unthinkable...  >:( :(

That's pretty bad.  They'll always have a place over here as Traffic Police if they get the sack.

Sorry I haven't been around much guys, but, this I have to answer. Those "officers" went way the hell too far this time. I do not know the officer involved. I heard about this. Sheriff Rob Gordon would have anyone involved fired pretty much without a investigation, then, file a criminal investigation on the participating deputy.

I could understand if it was a 35 year old suspect, high on drugs, but, a seventy-one year old citizen, whom, by the way, has not even a single traffic ticket to her name. This is unthinkable. This is not how we operate, nor, is it how we are meant to operate. Those officers do not deserve their badge, their gun, or the right to walk the streets. In my opinion, they deserve a nice assault, battery, police brutality, and, maybe even attd. murder charges brought against them. Even more importantly, I'd like to know what they were thinking when they were dealing with her.

Honestly - do any of you ever see a blind, hard of hearing, 71 year old grandmother to be much threat to you, or others around you? Did she have a gun? No. Did she have a weapon, period? No. Why was she tackled? They could have easily broken bones in her body, in which case, I'd be very suprised if some of those charges I mentioned above weren't filed. Then again, being the Portland Police Bureau, I wouldn't be all that suprised if they weren't.

"What sets us apart from people like most of you is that you'll never face a situation in your job where -- in less than 10 seconds -- the routine can turn to truly life-threatening," King wrote. "When that happens to us, when we have to make that ultimate split-second decision, we don't just ask for your understanding, we ask for your support."

Yeah. When was the last time you saw, or, for that matter, heard about a granny becoming a vicious, unstoppable, beligerent cop-killer? Yeah, right. 10 seconds, that part is true, but, not with what most of us would call a "perfect" senior-citizen. Is it just me, or, does this piss you off?

This crap has to be stopped. It's giving everyone in law enforcement a really bad name.

How in hell do you use water as a weapon?!  :-/

What, was she gonna drown her own child with water from a Tupperware bowl? That's pretty f'd up...

Read up on this - Think somebody's a racist? I sure do. Racism is not okay. I'd like to see the reasoning behind all these shooting - the "real" (police reports) on why they happened. Then, I'd like to question these "officers" on what happened. I'm willing to bet large amounts of money they will have the stuff memorized - A good sign of deception.
