The War on Server Hijacking

It's time we put the servers back in order! This is just a template for those of us who are cracking down on users with big images and the like:

You have been found to be in violation of Simviation's image file hosting policy.  Failure to remedy the situation will lead to forum authorities being alerted to your refusal to comply.  The following areas have been found at fault.

Forum policy has been set forth in clear, distinct literature.  The following rules are currently enforced:
[~list][~*][~b]Do not link to these images from other sites.[~/b]  Members found doing this may be banned & images deleted.
[~*]Please keep all screenshots/images in JPG format & less than 100K.
[~*]Please keep all images within 800 pixels wide.
[~*]Please keep PERSONAL avatars (logo under your name) less than 10K & 100 pixels wide.
[~*]Please keep SIGNATURE images within 30K max.
[~*]Please do not post more than 500K total of files in any one thread.[~/list]
This warning is not a threat, but a reminder that in exchange for using Simviation's services, these rules must be adhered to.

If you require further clarification, please reply to this post.

Adjust as you see fit, this is only a template.  Just erase the squigglies (~) when posting, and replace the "X" with whatever needs correcting.  I already sent out one of these to an anonymous member today, and I plan to send more!

PS: Please don't read into the whole "war" thing.  I just thought, everyone has a war to fight - drugs, poverty, etc.  Why can't Simviation have one!?

Hi Scorp. I think the wording is a tad strong. If you seriously intend sending these things out I would tone it down a bit. Cut out the threats & make it a reminder. I would also ask Pete for his comments. It's his site & his forum.

All I know is that I am in my guidelines. Since the last thread, I don't even have a pic anymore.  
I don't need people singling me out about something I wasn't even aware of,....then a month later to bring it up again.  :P
Somebody has a bug up their sleeve!

And here I thought hijacking had to do with weapons!  ;D

Scorp, you certainly seem to be on Simviation's side! Mucho appreciated!

However I suspect - whether or not they read the rules - most people mean only to have fun & enjoyment when they come here - which is the aim of it all .....  :) & I really hate upsetting people ..  8)

I think the best method of control is to simply report oversized shots to the mods or me & we can have a polite word with the offender ... I admit it's a daily chore having to delete images ranging up into the 300 k's & I do wish people would use ACDSEE - most 800 images need be no more than 60k max & ACDSEE will do this with a simple Save.

Aye Captain Pete.

I suppose some of y'all are wondering why I'm so concerned with all these pictures.  Well, everyone looks out for their interests, and with my 56K, my interest is making the forums running decently fast!

So there's the reason.

Also, the whole reason I made the template is because it happens so often, that it's really not worth it to have to give a reminder every time there's a problem.  Copy/paste is your friend!  Anyway, I see it's wasn't meant to be...  So....  I shall make a template to send to the mods!
