I am still in shock.

I've just witnessed a crewmember of the USS Theodore Rooseveld beeing sucked into a jet engine ( think it was an intruder jet) on a televionshow (about stupid people). The guy forgot to duck while passing the inlet, and was simply sucked in in a flash. Result: major flameburst in the outlet of the jet. I wouldn't call the guy stupid, it seemed a moment of  concentrationloss.

Luckely the crewmember wasn't injured to badly. His helmet prevented worse...

But even then, Jeez!

The flightdeck of a carrier is one of the most dangerous working environments in the world, it's easy to lose the visual or auditory cues you rely on to tell what is moving and what is running.

I heard somewhere that Loyyd's have labled carrier decks as the most dangerous places to work.
Anyone ever seen the clip of the A-6 BN who partially ejected and was then flown onto the carrier sitting in the slipstream?

I've seen that video many times.  It's amazing he wasn't killed-let alone surviving without hardly a scratch.

Just read the story...very impressive,especially from the view of the BN....
