Ok no this isnt me going on to ask if they are real.
This is me asking what is wrong with some people. I was recently doing a search on contrails and this subject popped up more than once. I noticed all these conspiracy theorists babbling on about these contrails are being created by the government for various reasons from poisoning the public, to testing out what would be needed to kill crops.
Now they obviously didnt understand the concept behind contrails how they are formed and why they are in the patterns they are. I remember one guy claiming he saw two planes cross over within a few miles of each other while forming these trails, and that planes never go that close, and that all these side by side trails arnt possible because planes dont do that. I am guessing no one explained airways to him either:)
I just wanted to get your opinion on these people. Is it like mine, that these guys are just stupid, and so clouded by what they want to believe, that they wont do research into the real causes of these things.
Or do we have some people here who believe these guys?(i know the answer from Mr Fozzer and Mr Hagar already )

Well Craig, since you brought me into this.
I haven't heard any conspiracy theories about contrails or vapour trails. I thought the principle of this was known even by the general public. People around here used to follow the combat taking place overhead during the BoB by watching the pretty patterns in the skies.

I do remember the British government admitting some years ago that the RAF did secret trials with deadly chemicals along the south coast of England - in the 50s or 60s I think it was. This was done without informing the public & there was a big fuss over it. I think it had something to do with research into how radiation is affected by the wind. My memory is a tad hazy & I don't remember the details. I'll see if I can find out more about it.

Both you guys just need to do a quick google on "chemtrails". its scary how many people buy into these things. Many of them claiming to be experts but not having the first clue about planes.

There is a big conspiracy and I was part of it.  I was in one of those planes.  My part of the job was to eat peanuts and watch a movie.  

Seriously though, it is amazing what some people will or want to believe.

Also after reading Hagar's note about the BoB, I'd be curious to know if there were many incidents during the war of people being hurt or killed by falling debris (bullets, casings, droptanks, etc.).  You know there had to be alot of lead flying around up there.

Some of my friends (older than me) were about 9 or 10 years old at the time. They used to go around collecting shrapnel & shell casings after a dogfight. One told me he was chased up the road in the street where he lived by a strafing Bf 109 on a hit & run raid. I never heard of anyone actually being hit by falling debris.

I was one of those youngsters who used to go outside collecting shrapnel after an air raid while living in Petts Wood, Kent, (..you may know the area?).
We had a bowl of it until my parents died some years ago, and it all got thrown away... ...!
...shame...!
I don't remember anyone getting hit with it 'cos we weren't allowed out of our air raid shelters until after the "all clear" siren had sounded... ...!

Whether or not there is such a thing as "chemtrails" is irrelevant, if you think about it.

Chemtrail or not, the crap being poured out the tail end of our beautiful airplanes is there, and it's not good to breathe!

Can't say I've noticed. Mind you, I was only 2 years old when the war ended.
Fire engines, ambulances & my old friends the fuzz make such an awful racket with their sirens these days & take great delight in making me jump out of my skin. Not like those civilised bells they used to have in the old days.

PS. I haven't heard a proper air raid/fire siren for a long time. They stopped using them around here many years ago. It's all done by phone nowadays.

I remember when I worked at Crawley 30 years ago our cars were always covered with little black spots when the wind was in a certain direction. This was the unburned fuel residue from the aircraft using Gatwick.  You could also smell fuel fumes in the air. People couldn't hang out their washing for days on end. One farm over Rusper way was ruined when a jet dumped fuel all over the fields. With all this going on who needs Chemtrails or whatever they call 'em.

I've never heard this theory before but it's quite possibly connected with other experiments. It's obvious that something secret was going on in the area around this time. Don't forget that servicemen were ordered to witness the nuclear tests out in the open without any protection from radiation.

Seriously? Where I used to live in Western Washington, the local air raid siren went off everyday at noon, and then when there was an emergency like a fire of some kind

Even the town that I live near has one that I believe goes off everyday at noon.

Yes seriously. Heariing the fire sirens wailing was common when I was younger. Not sure they still have one in this area at all now. I believe the old air-raid siren on the town hall was scrapped many years ago & not replaced.
