haunting

After recent readings round the net, i discovered they released a few phone calls made from Flight AA11, during the 9/11 hijackings. The first is a flight attendant on the flight describing whats happend, and is haunting as it describes what these guys did wasnt just a case of rushing the cockpit. the second is a call from a woman on the line with the attendant, and an AA emergency center attendant. I have to give the attendant alot of credit for her professionalism, and calmness during this time.

Recordings removed to keep the peace. They can be found on most major news sites

It has been on the news all morning.

You are right the tape on TV that is being re-played exemplifies the professional training of the crew.

This is only my opinion but I somehow find this disturbing. There are some things that should not be made public or presented as entertainment. IMHO

To me this falls into the same category as rubbernecking where crowds flock to the scene of a serious accident to satisfy their morbid curiosity. In doing so they can disrupt the efforts of the emergency services & cause a general nuisance. Disgraceful behaviour. All this seems to be a comparatively recent development & shows a distasteful side of human nature. I won't be listening to those calls.

I agree absolutely.  I do not condemn the posting of these recordings but I think I'll abstain.

Have you ever downloaded cockpit voice recordings from aviation accident websites?

It's quite eery listening to the crew talking seconds before you hear loud rumbling sounds

heard quite a few. However the problem with these recordings, is its obvious the flight attendant didnt know what was going to happen. Add that to the fact these show any chance of a takeover by passengers wasnt possible, the fact they used mace or some other gas to flood first class. Its kinda haunting and also stunning how they got all these things through security.

What really bothers me is they show the families listening to this tape...To me the Press should be banned from such disgraceful antics.

The Canadian soldier just killed,  the press right there before the body is brought home!

If the Press is so concerned they should be on the door step of every municipal, provincial and federal member of parliaments door getting there answers.

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

Yes you are probably right CraigL.

The picture we got this morning on TV showed the family of one of the aircrew listening to the tape.

It looked to us this was the first time they heard it BUT you could be correct.

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug :)

Well it was on the news here the other night, I wasn't watching it (see my post in the cafe re-apologies), but suddenly there was English being spoken on the TV which always grabs my attention.
The recordings spoke volumes for the professionalism of aircrews everywhere.
And showed that the media will use anything tragic as entertainment to get their ratings >:(
I have firsthand experience of this, as 4 years ago I had a student of mine commit suicide at school in class (not mine) using his fathers pistol. The next day the vultures of the media were lurking at the school harrassing students. I will admit that I lost it completely, and if the Police hadn't been there, I would probably have killed them, as it was I chased them off school property. Hate journalists. Worms >:( >:( >:( Of course I do come from a military family who view journos as moving targets.... ;D

Ozzy (a happy aviator, when straffing buses full of journos ;D has anyone done this as a macro for any version of CFS? 8) 8) 8))
