I think news from The Onion needs to be taken with a pinch of salt. ;)

;D Serves him right. All part of the job. If he's not up to it he shouldn't have joined in the first place. LOL ;D

I think everyone knows my opinion on these "sky marshals" by now so I won't labour the point.

I couldn't help noticing that in the photo the marshal is sitting in a window seat next to a rather large gentleman.

Quite how he would expect to do anything about a terrorist aboard the aircraft defeats my wildest imagination. ::)
Not only that but I'm wondering about the sense of identifying the man by publishing a photo of him. :o
I thought these people were supposed to be working undercover.  ???
undercover air marshal Kirk Gillam

I find the whole thing beyond belief. It's like something out of Monty Python.

Just think of The Onion as the online equivilant of Private Eye and you will realise that this story is more than probably made up. ;)

as far as this story in particular, maybe. but i would imagine it happens alot, being stuck on the plane all day your bound to get caught up in conversation, as for sitting by a window, when ya have a gun you dont need to be in an isle seat:)

I beg to differ. His range of vision & fire would be extremely limited wherever he sat. A window seat would be even worse as in most aircraft the lockers restrict head room. I like window seats & it's often difficult for me to stand up straight. Besides, have you ever sat in a window seat, even next to a normal sized person, & tried to get out to go to the toilet? ::)

AH once again Hagars eye focuses on the details.
The first thing that I thought of was how uncanny it was that someone "happened" to snap the photo at the appropriate time.
I also thought about the guy and his job and then being stuck by a big guy!!
But I overlooked the fact that he is suppose to be "undercover"  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

as for the photo, no doubt it was a setup afterwards if it did happen:) with some actor.
Remember Doug, these guys are fully trained, no doubt in being able to take out a hijacker from under a seat or inside a luggage bin:)

There is no doubt the photo was posed..

So I'm told. Why does this unerring confidence in their ability worry me? ::)

Sorry but I ain't convinced. No way Jose.

LOL what mind:)
I dont trust them on board really. They make a differance, it has yet to be prooven whether its a good or bad differance yet.
As for this whole link thingy, again gotten from Anet. Its good for links and topics but the childish discussions and the fact you have to pay to use the forums means i am not gonna be signing up to discuss it there. Besides more entertaining and intelligent form of discussion here.
