Good News - UK Runway Problem Solved!

Just in time to quell the debate over whether and where any future new runways should be built in the UK, the genius of Mr Blair's government team has come shining through yet again and they have solved the problem at a stroke.
As can be seen from the following picture, a new Shuttle Launching Base is already at an advanced stage of construction in the car park of Leeds-Bradford airport, chosen because of it's unique and convenient location in the heart of the UK cloglands.

The Shuttle will be able to deliver a large number of passengers at high speed and at an acceptable level of risk (especially if they are Conservative voters) to almost any part of the developed World. A New Labour Spokesperson (of indeterminate gender so as to avoid any question of bias or discrimination) this afternoon said, "As in most things, we don't know anything about this subject, but we believe that as no Shuttle taking off from here is ever likely to return with fare-paying passengers, there will be no need for any new runway construction"
Cheering crowds from Greeenpeace and the UK Green Party then grabbed the aforesaid Spokesperson and hoisted them shoulder high. They seemed little concerned when the Spokesperson's head fell off and several springs and cogs fell out.
