Wright Flyer Fails!
Posted: Wed Dec 17, 2003 4:00 pmAt the launch today, the flyer hit puddle at the end of its track and failed to lift off...saw the video and it looks like the guy stalled it first.

Posted: Wed Dec 17, 2003 9:31 pmYou can never DUPLICATE an actual flight, you can record it and play it back but you will never DUPLICATE the actual flight.
A lot of taxpayers money has been spent in many many countries to prove that.
In most countries Government Civil Aviation Sites have threads leading to the above. It makes for some very interesting reading.

That's the only difference really, the Wright Bros. flew it that day and at at that hour because they had the conditions they knew they needed.
So with all the expertise, and dedication & planning these folks put into this project,............they left out the most simple of requirements..................proper weather conditions. And they went ahead and flew it anyway, and got the inevitible result.
The Wright Bros wouldnt have tried it, and waited for the "Wright" conditions to exist.
That's the only difference really, the Wright Bros. flew it that day and at at that hour because they had the conditions they knew they needed.
