yes i think

Write down the formula on paper (probably you've done that already
Make that into the formula for the line describing the angle (formula, not degrees) of the line that follows the formula in every point.

Put 0.00001 in for the lower
and 0.99999 for the upper limit

Ans = (x+1)*ln(x^2+2*x) + C

because differentiating this;

let y = a * ln u where u = x^2+2*x and a = x + 1

dy/dx = a / u

dy/dx = (x+1) / (x^2+2*x)

You guys have got the same answer that I have already been  able to find using substitution, however if you take the dy/dx and do:

F(1) - F(0) like we're supposed to do to get the area under the curve, you end up takign the natural log of 0 which is undefined...

One of the other guys from the class went to the tutoring center and got all of the answers, and for this problem they ended up with a 2.25, but he doesn't have any work to show how he got it... :(

Well thats not good

"Show your work" is proly my teachers fav saying.

You know, all that I think I prefer taking pre-calculus than Algebra 2!!! :o

I don't know...Calculus can involve lots of algebra also..

:( I'm not good at algebra, but once I solve this problem, I'll be done with all of the math classes that I have to take! Translation? No more math EVER! Yay!

Yup! final question to be solved! I was able to get the rest of them myself, but this last one here is just bugging me more than anything else...

I'm sure that I could leave it blank or write it as undefined, but i wanted to be sure to check all my bases and make sure that I did an adequate amount of work before I called it quits... :(

im using an almighty graphics calculator with integral function and it gives me an error! How baffling!?! ???

Yeah, I got the same problem usign my calculator, also got the information from the guy who went to see the tutor, and from a retired physicist also...

Unfortunately they both got different answers... :(

Now I'm still trying to figure it out! And it's driving me crazy!  :D ;)

lol...unfortunately the retired guy gave me a negative number...which looking at the graph of the function proves that to be wrong...

whereas the guy who talked to the tutor had a reasonable answer of 2.25...

why look at the negative side of things?

All it takes is to remove the -

its not the SAT folks! ;D
