This has been mentioned in the FS2004 Forums. But just in case you never visit that forum, here's an announcement.

I have finished a Beta version of the 1998 Mercedes-Benz SL600. The Full package will be released later on with all the feature intended.

I uploaded the Beta version yesterday in simviation. It is now post on the website's main page under "FS2004 Misc".

You can post your opinions here if you like.

Wow, you made that? Cool,.....I'll get it and check it out.
I saw it yesterday, but was looking for new planes so I kinda ignored it as I passed by it, but the shot of it there in the listing looks great.
I'll let ya know,..........and thanks! ;)

The Beta version [already released] does not have as much details as the full version. However, it does provide insight as to how the model will look like when completely finished.

Since I have already reached this far with the project, I guess it's time for me to announce a possible release date.

My best estimate is that the full package would probably be completed and released by Mid-December.

I chose mid-December instead of late because I want everyone to celebrate christmas and the new year with a nice luxury car to fool around with in the FS world. ;D

Note: Don't drink and drive. LOL

Right now, I'm looking for someone who can create sounds for the Mercedes.

I have at least one sound file that is ready. However, I cannot program FS to use it because I have never learned how to make a sound package for an FS model.

I do need sounds. Or at least program them so that they can be used in sequence with the throttle input.

That's the one thing I don't how to do.

In fact, it's the only feature I have left to learn about.

I have already learned how to make DVC's, Animations, Reflective textures, Dynamic shines, and flight dynamics.

All that's left for me to learn is how to program the sounds. But for now, I need help.

i hope that the REAL one wont have a jet engene.  the speed has no cap, no RPM limit. so unless it has a piston engen, i wont download it.

otherwise very nice, i drove it at McConnel AFB, i was going 202, i hit a bump and a few seconds later i landed in somones house(reminds me of le mans 99')

would there be anyway to make it so when im driving on all the crappy fs freeways and i hit a bump, it wont land in a tree?

I had to use the jet engine effect because the piston engine didn't seem to wanna work. Even if it did work, it didn't give enough thrust.

I'm still trying the piston engine effect so that I can see where I went wrong. So far, I can't figure it out.

Remember, this is a luxury car, not a speed demon. You only need 1/4 throttle input to maintain cruise speed.

Look in the bright side, at least the beta version and full version are not going to tip over compared to previous releases.

It's like that with most ground vehicles for FS.  You just have to remember that aircraft are used at much higher speeds than cars!  I love it when you hit a bumb and fly 200 feet in the air!  ;D
