O.k I know how good Broadband is (having it myself).
But I see a problem.

I've probably got it all wrong, but here goes.
Surely if everyone converts from 56k (which I'm sure will happen in the near future) then this will slow down Broadband won't it? Doesn't this also mean that we won't be getting the speed that we originally pay for (

Hi Holder, basically the best analogy to think of is like a pipe with water running through it. The bigger the pipe, the more water.
Yes more people going to broadband can slow things down, but its negligble compared to dear old dial-up modems!
The biggest problem is servers the other end having enough speed. Sometimes I download planes from Russian sites (the Ekranoplan being a good example), and they are still using 26k modems on their servers. A 12mb file took 8 hours! Worth it when I got it though.

..slightly off topic but...
The mention of the word "Broadband" always brings to mind a Pop Group made up of ladies of dubious character...

...!
...or id it just me...?
LOL...LOL...LOL...!
Seriously tho'...
I have 56k, dial-up modem, Evenings and Weekends, with a two hour cut-off time....
The good points....
It's VERY CHEAP...

seriously, i find broadband far too expensive currently, and where i am in Queensland I get really decent 56 K dial up speeds all the time. I don't d/l excessive amounts of things so it isnt an issue to me.

Forget that! Broadband also comes in real handy for downloading those 15 Mb planes for FS. In fact, that's the main reason I got it. It's not just that why I won't go back though. Almost instantaneous page loads, quicker jpeg loading, and actually getting to watch a movie trailer is great!

Hey, I would give anything for broadband, even if it was 'slow'. Heck, I'd kill for a 56k connection
