The Purpose of the this thread is to discuss the meanings and symbolism and means that was displayed in the Matrix and the Matrix: Reloaded.

This thread is "NOT" intended to summarize the performance of a movie.

I'll start off.

Remember that part when Neo and Trinity enters Zion and is abruptly greeted by this young guy who knows the Neo saved him? I think I know where he came from.

If you have seen the Animatrix series, then you might have missed the full meaning of that part.

In the Animatrix [one of the series], there was this boy who believes that his dreams are more real than the world he is living in. On the computer, he talks to Neo [if I can remember correctly]. When the boy was contacted again, Neo tells him to run because the agents are after him.

In the end, he jumps off the top of a building believing that everything that he currently sees is not real. When he hits the ground, he wakes up in the real world and the first person he sees is Neo.

That's possibly why that young fellow appears in the movie.

You know name Persephone in Matrix Reloaded. Isnt Persephone the daughter of Cretes in Greek mythology?

Where Persephone is taken to the underworld in the winter. Making Cretes sad and preventing the crops to grow. Then Zeus told Hermes to sort it out. So, he tried to make Creses happy but it didn't work. Hermes made a deal that Persephone will be returned in the summer season, thus allowing the crops to grow. I think this is how the Greeks explained how the seasons changed.

I could be wrong.

Have you noticed one thing that Neo, (Keanu Reeves), learned in his journey into fantasy-land, was how to talk R-E-A-L-L-Y, R-E-A-L-L-L-Y, r-e-a-l-l-y, r-e-a-l-l-y s-l-o-w-l-y.... 8)...!

Something about the Matrix,

Why did the machines have to create the matrix? Surely it would have been a lot easier to let the humans just, I dunno, sleep or whatever?

Oh yeah, I just have to say this-

I am the one 8)

Also if he can fly, beat up agents and stop bullets, and now it looks like he can kill machines in the real world, surely the great fleao could destroy the matrix?

Apart from that, great movie.
