Thanks Hagar, I have done a little investigation into this worm myself and found the Microsoft information.
AVG is a freeware anti-virus program that is generally held in pretty high regard, I update it regularly and it seems to do the job quite well as it alerted me to the presence of this worm in the first place and supposedly removed it.
All I am getting now is a warning saying the same worm has been detected, but when I run the virus program it's not finding it, odd since the same program is telling me exactly where it is located, however when I try to find the location it is giving me, I can't find it.
I did find one bit of information that said this virus is set to remove itself on January 1st 2004.
I can't figure out how I got the dang thing in the first place, according to what I have read, this virus enters through an open port, but I run a firewall in stealth mode, I have tested it and was informed that my system was non-existant as far as being visible on the internet, so I think it had to get in some other way, like an email from someone I know, (I'm sure they don't realize they are sending worms to people if this is the case.)
I am amazed that with all the damage and annoyances people can cause as far as worms and viruses and hacking, no one has found a fullproof way to track these losers down, I suppose that would be quite a feat considering all the people that use the internet.
Hopefully this little virus I have will just remain annoying, from what I have read about it, it doesn't seem to cause any really big problems, in the meantime I will just keep trying to track it down and squish the little bugger once and for all.
