Anyone know what's happening there? Their server is unavailable and we'd all be the losers if they've gone. They and jetphotos.net (who are still working great) are THE main sources of pics for painting and design in my view.

They may just be down.  I hope so.  When Totavia went away, I almost cried... :-/

one person, a huge server, you do the math:)
its been down for me to, and while i do agree they are a great site, i have to say charging to use the forums is lame, especially with all the childish  A vs B wars and childish squables.

yeah.
but like i said, you need to pay for membership, and they have annoyingly childish conversations, everything ends up in some airbus vs boeing war, then you have kids there who try to sound like smart asses and that they know all about the airline world, and so on, it makes me glad we have a place like SimV really

Yeah - and we don't have to pay to have our own smart assed childish flame Airbus v Boring flame wars, when we all know that the Curtiss company made the best airliner of all time and it was a Boeing/Douglas conspiracy the did the Condor in....

Phew what a relief - must just have caught em with their servers down

Er.. anyway, it's pretty obvious that there are only 2 contenders for greatest airliner - both British (OK, one is just 1/2)

The Dehavilland Comet and the Concorde

Sorry all you poor yanks - you just don't come into this contest this time :P

I beg to differ.
In my opinion the short sunderland passenger conversions were the best. They went from 1945 to 1956 on most airlines in the world.

I sent in a photo about a week ago and it was put up.  It was the only photo that I've tried to upload to airliners.net .

I like taking aviation photographs but with such strict security these days I don't bother much anymore.
