September 11, 2001...

With 9/11+2 approaching, I'm contemplating posting an essay I wrote last year regarding September 11th from the perspective of the "ordinary American".

Few questions though:

1.  Is anyone even interested in it?
2.  Where should it be posted?
3.  How would I go about uploading it?  It's rather lengthy.  lol

Thanks!

Deffinately post it-and I'd post it here in general.  As far as uploading it-the best option you probably have is typing it out (if you already have it on a word document-just cut and paste).  I'd love to read it.

Scott, I would like to read it. Post it on or around the 2nd anniversary.
Maybe in the general forums.
I do freelance photography and have alot of on-site pictures I took, hundreds!!! I was able to gain access to ground zero for 5 days.
It was terrible to walk around in the aftermath. The smoke, the smell, the crying, the loss. I asked Pete about posting a few once and he said he did not see the harm.

Maybe you and I could do something. With your words and my pics.....?
Only a few small pics to enhance your story.

Let me know

I will definitely post it then....since there seems to be somewhat of an interest.  I'll put it up as close to the 2 year anniversary as possible.

Dave, if you'd like to put some pics up, that would be great.  Not sure how we'd go about incorporating the two, but we'll figure something out between now and then.

If you'd like, I'll  email you a copy tonight so you can figure out which pics you want to put up and whatnot.

I'm behind you both on this  8) ....if I can be of any assistance in bringing this to fruition, I will be happy to try and be of some help  ??? but not sure what I could do, if one of you has the images and the other has the written text ?  doesn't leave much to me ???.......
.........well, as long as its not more than three letter words and clipart web images, I'm still willing to lend my mouse...........

The one strong memory I have of that day, was listening to it on the Howie Radio Show.......on this day, even Stern was a pro and did a fine job of bringing this sad news to the world........even "he" almost cried on the air......

I would be interested to see it, but remember that we are an international forum, and adverse comments will be dealt with swiftly. Please keep things to the point and non-political.
However Scott I know that you write objectively, so I'll be interested to see your take on That Day. Having spent some of my childhood in NY I was shocked, and remember with horrific clarity the events that day.

Don't worry Mark, I informed Scott of our "political  incidents" before the war with Iraq.  We will be sensitive to the issue. It will be more of a little memorial rememberence post,...not a reason to start anything,..I assure you.

I think we have had enough "Misunderstandings" this week to last for a while. It is not a place to express our political opinions because we are all from different parts of the world, but,
We are all a part of the same community!
Let's try to focus on that.

I hope we have all learned that this week.

As it is a piece about my own personal reflections on that day, it is filled with a few personal feelings on those responsible for the horrendous events we witnessed.

I'll leave it up to the moderators how they want to handle this.

You can either decide for me to not post it at all, in which case I'll email it to anyone wishing to read it, or you can have me post it and let those who are willing to see it for what it is (and not be offended) read it.

The choice is up to you all.  I'm but a mere poster in the forum of life.  ;)

Ozzy72,
not to be rude or offensive but there is absolutly no way depoliticize what happened over here on that terrible day.
I am looking forward to seeing the presentation collaboration though.

I too have a peice I wrote last year.

Coming of the perspective of a New Yorker, also one of the few that had airplanes in the skies that day, I can offer some perspective as to whats its like to be attacked near to home(I am around 200 mies away from NYC).  Also I can offer what it was like when I stood in the yard that night and watched F-16s fully loaded go off.  (the same wing that was to shoot down flight 93)

Ok I just re-read it and it is a very detailed account of my whole day that day.  Any interest?
