maybe you already know this short video, if not...watch it and tell me if it's fake? personally i think it's fake...the plane looks like a CFS3 model and the man doesn't react very realistic :)

Its gotta be real. After the spitfire goes past you see the grass get buffeted about by the prop wash. And he does react realistic. :P

This is kosher. I've seen this Spitfire for real in Britain, and the guy that owns it really is that mental :o What a star ;D

That can only be Ray Hanna in MH434. Check this out. http://www.shaunryan.freeserve.co.uk/spitfire/spitfire.htm

It looks real. but i have my doubts.
As it passes the camera, it doesnt look quite right. And the way he smiles and says 'fuck me' repeatedly, just looks like hes putting it on. (If it happened to me, i would be more colourful than that ;D)
Unless it was designed to be a low-fly-over-let-try-and-make-it-a-fake-blooper, fake blooper :)

It's real enough Maccers. The only thing fake about it is the guy's apparent surprise & reaction. It was obviously set up for the camera, carefully rehearsed & played out to a script. LOL

PS. Ray Hanna is famous & respected for his low flying. Some call him mad but I'm sure it's all very well rehearsed. Unfortunately he lost his son Mark back in 1999. :'(

Goodwood air traffic control reported that an airliner from Gatwick altered course to take a look down from above on the sensational flying display by Ray Hanna and his son Mark in their Spitfires. On the opening day of the meeting, 70 year old Ray Hanna, a former leader of the Red Arrows, flew his Spitfire down the Goodwood start/finish straight just 20 feet above the tarmac. Spectators on the balcony above the new Goodwood pits were able to get a rare glimpse of Mr Hanna's Spitfire from above his cockpit.

I understand that it would be a 'little' dangerous and probably a little difficult to fly a fighter at say, 20-25 feet (which is where I put this one in the film), but surely not too hard or dangerous.
My reason for thinking this way is simply the example of something seemingly far more difficult and dangerous having been done by a number of planes during the War.

Of course, I'm talking about the Dambusters. Lanacsters 60 feet off the WATER in the DARK, under fire, carrying a 3 ton bomb. Surely after this, in such an aircraft, 25 feet for a Spitfire is not that much of a feat.

I'll admit, I have no actual experience or knowledge regarding low flying but I'm applying a bit of common sense and come up with this idea.  ;D ;D ;)

I already said in the last post where this is from, but just in case you missed it, the clip is from the opening sequence to the Spitfire 60th anniversary airshow program that is always being shown on the History Channel. It is indeed MH434 with the one and only Ray Hanna at the helm!

Upon further resolution and size enhancement you can see that the spit displaces the horizon in the first few frames where it is visible indicating what might some sort of computer trickery ???

If you think about it, the reaction the guy gives is one of a man who was expecting something to happen like that but was suprised at how low and close the spit was flying.

Yep he was certainly expecting that flyover.
