As far as the pictures not displaying I had that problem too.  After you upload the picture to wherever you upload it to dissect the page (in IE) using view\source.  Cut & paste the EXACT code (you can change the size).

For example, my current avatar is  Kind of a pain to remember.

To hell with HTML - I've never used it in my life & have built dozens of sites & 1000's of pages ..

Just get yourself a good web design program... you should be able to pick up an old copy of dreamweaver for a few $ on ebay or alternative...

If you need to scrape the barrel get Frontpage - but that is really amateur ... really...
