The definition of Impatience is getting your DSL router the day BEFORE your service is scheduled to begin!  Man, this thing is sitting on top of my computer staring at me, begging me to use it, but here I am, all dressed up and no place to go.  Man, dial-up sucks... >:(

They did include a free ethernet card however,  that's a nice touch, even though I already have one.  :)

I used to have a 56k modem on dial-up using an old country phone line....I know how exasperating it can be to try to accomplish any D/L tasks at 2.5k......almost made me as crazy as what Stormy can do to me now......

WOOHOOO!!!  They hooked it up early!!!  I just downloaded the RCS B-25 as a test (no comment, I know what everyone thinks of him) in 6 1/2 minutes!!!  A 5 mb plane used to take 10-15 minutes!  YEEEEHHAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!

Broadband is MUCH TOO EXPENSIVE over here, which is why, probably most of us, (including me), still use dial-up.
It may be long-winded, but at leat it's cheap, and makes sure that I do other more important things before I can log-on after 6 O'clock every evening... ;D...!
(If I had Broadband I would be stuck in this flippin' chair for 18 hours a day...).... :'(...!
Dial-up evenings and week-ends =

Hi Craig...
My 56k dial-up works extremely well via Freeserve.
I have to re-connect after every two hours, but it's reliable, although rather slow to turn pages, etc,...
Downloads take a while, but as they say, "Rome wasn't built in a day"....so I can wait a while for a nice plane to download while I make a cup of tea.. 8)...!
...and it only costs me

Weird, I use a 56k dial-up and I'm quite pleased, I get good fast downloads of my aircraft!

Ozzy

Ps. Mind you nearly everyone here is still using clockwork or steam power in their computers of course.... ;D

Unlike some of us who live in entire areas where the phone systems are all old >:(
