Nationality?

There are other options, I know, but I had only 8  to use.
I don't know if this has been covered before.
I was interested to know which country the forum regulars and regular vistors were from, but there are so many, it would be difficult to list even some of the most common. So I went for Continents. That way we have at least an idea of where everyone is.

Add a reply stating the country, or specific area or province if you think it's relevant.

Dumb question, from a dumb Yank, where's "Oceania"?

The term Oceania is normally used to designate all the islands of the Central and the South Pacific including Australia (continent), New Zealand and sometimes the Malay Archipelago.

It's also called this in MSFS.

I'm a proud Englishman having trouble coming to terms with being a European. I'm coming round to the idea that being too nationalistic causes more trouble than it's worth. It seems even more unlikely to happen than ever but I would rather be able to say I'm a citizen of the World.  ::)

Well I'm terribly British, but live in Hungary. Kind of complicated. I think if you live away from your own country you do tend to get a bit perculiar about nationalism. Little things, not flag waving marching up and down the street stuff.

I thought Australians were supposed to be the biggest beer consumers (per capita) at least at one time. Could be wrong though.
There's an interesting piece of research for some bright lad to undertake! ;D

Hagar, my man, I don't know where you got the quote that states that the Malay Archipelago is SOMETIMES included as part of 'Oceania' but you better throw it away. They're Asians. You can tell by just looking at them.

I jest though ;D I've never heard that. It was always my understanding (and what we were taught at school) that 'Oceania' was Australia, New Zealand and surrounding islands (possessions).
But in this changing world, we are now part of ASEAN (Association of South East Asian Nations). Most upsetting! ;) I don't even like rice. ;D ;)

While we're on the subject of what is where.............Scandinavia (what seems like a country where I might like to be.....) Norway, Sweden and Denmark are definitely Scandinavian countries. I have read that there are supposed to be 4 Scandinavian countries. Some books say Finland is the 4th, others say Iceland is the 4th.
Which is it? Or are there five? Can anyone clarify...........(I know Hagar is just going to log onto Google...... ;D ;D ;D

Hi Craig... ;D...!
You are right there, my old mate...
The British were here long before the Romans came, over 2000 years ago, the island called Britainia, now called Great Britain, (England, Scotland and Wales).
You, Maccers, Woody, and I are probably English, Crazy Craig and Whitey are probably Scottish....and then there are the Welsh.... :'(...say no more...LOL...LOL...LOL...!

A potted history of Britain. Part 1..... ;D...!
LOL...!

Cheers all... ;D...!
Paul.
(Britainia).

Don't blame me. It's an exact quote from the first site Google came up with. I take no responsibility for its accuracy.  :P ;D
