Read this, and then think about the fact that Ken builds model airplanes in his workshop at home...

Don't worry about Russia's bioweapon laboratories and North Korea's nuclear programme: the greatest threat to world security is sitting in a shed in New Zealand.

Hmmm. My father-in-law, a veteran RC modeller, had a couple of model pulsejet engines for years. They looked just like miniature versions of the ones on the old doodlebugs. Not sure where he acquired them but he told me they were in full working order. When he died the family sold them to a collector as it's illegal to use them in the UK. Pity.

If you have ever heard one of these things operate, you will know why they get outlawed everywhere...........for something so small, they sure can get to the top of the Db meter........still only second place though when it comes to comparing that noise with the noise of an upset woman !

I have heard them as a matter of fact & confirm what you say about the noise. ;)
The local model show organisers somehow got dispensation to allow the Dutch pulsejet guys to fly their stuff over here. Used to do it regularly until a couple of years ago. I never did figure that out. Wasn't too impressed either. I would rather see a model gas turbine. Now they really are something.

Teaser ?.....well ok, just a little

Lots to see here in the pits

Everyone must know this one.........

Thanks Rifleman. Nice photos, as always. You don't see too many of those white streamlined models at the typical local displays I go to.

Mr Simpson has previously made a jet-powered go-kart and used jet engines to warm his tea.
