anyone from UK see this program?? i have to say it was definatly eye opening to say the least, and whats scarey is something like that is just bound to happen, and soon.
and for those who didnt see it, a quick rundown, goes something like this.
the program is set in the near future, just after a train crash in scotland which causes the entire rail network to go on strike, that in turn creates huge problems for the roads, then a few accidents cause an almost complete shut down of britains motorways, which then creates a huge knock on effect into the air network, which is where the major problem in this program started, airtraffic controllers turn up late for work others have to work late and that means more mistakes, then they have to double up sectors meaning even more chance for accidents. then one controller who is almost into the final minutes of her extended shift, looks away for a few seconds then suddenly realises that a plane who is second on final to heathrow is going faster than the plane in front, but it has been handed off to tower which is already stuck with major problems so they dont answer the phone for the go around warning till the last second, at which time another plane has been given take off clearance without the knowledge of the go around, and then a few seconds later, boom, mid air collision, and then it goes into the aftermath of this and so on. may have only been a fictional program but it does bring up some serious truths.
