Nanotechnology

I just recently finished a book titled "PREY", by Michael Crichton. It's about an experiment by a government-funded R&D team that's using nanotechnology to create an advanced surveillance system for the military. It takes place at a secret installation in the Nevadan desert; the suspense comes when the experiment goes very wrong (of course)!

I've since been reading up on 'nanotech' at various websites.....this obviously has enormous potential in the development of artificial intelligence! Anyway here's a few sites that might interest you (there's actually many!)

    http://www.systems.org/HTML/fsj-v02/sup ... igence.htm
    http://idg.net.nz/webhome.nsf/UNID/A5F5 ... endocument

The last site deals with 'nanotech' data-storage; now they just need to develop the processing system that can take all that data and display it on a monitor at a decent framerate!! Anyway, looks like there's hope! :)

Just curious, does nanotechnology relate to nanorobots? I read a book long ago that talked bout how small 'nanobots' could be used to destroy inoperable tumors without causing any damage.Theyd just inject the tiny machine into the blood stream and it navigated itself towards the affected area. But the technology is still a bit far away of course.

Sounds the same Oz; do you recall the name of that book?

The book is called 'Future'. It doesnt talk much bout nano-bots, only says what they are and how they could be useful in the human body. Im sure you'll find something if you do a search for it on Yahoo or google
