If you have the latest patches for MOH, you don't need gamespy for MP, you can search for online servers in the game itself.

The Spearhead expansion pack is great, although it's only got a couple missions which is kindof disappointing.

Goodie!

How do I do that search thing you mentioned, and let me clarify my second question: What theatre does Spearhead takes place in?

With the offical v1.11 patch (or higher) you can search for multiplayer games while inside the game itself. This is achieved by clicking on the door (Browse for Servers) in the multiplyer section of the main menu.

Spearhead takes place in the same time frame. You take part in Operation Market Garden, Battle of the Bulge, and the Invasion of Berlin. In my personal opinion, although an expansion, it is better than the original game.

PS you get smoke grenades!

true. It also seems that the weapons are are more realistic. One shot with any rifle will most likely bring a person down, whereas in the original MOH, it takes several ::) :-/

Now if only the original MOH was updated so the weapons were realistic like in spearhead

Is it just me or does Allied Assult seem to be based off of the movie Saving Private Ryan (especially in the Normandy landing level-when you are in front of the bunker the Captain says a few lines right out pf the movie).  It also seems like the expansion pack "Spearhead" is based off of the HBO series Band of Brothers.  Did anyone else notice this?

Yes I noticed that. There's quite a few coincedences (sp?).

In MOHAA, I can't help but think that your officer in the Normandy invasion sounds a bit like Tom Hanks. There's also lots familiar lines & visuals from Saving Private Ryan.

In Spearhead, you parachute behind enemy lines on Dday like in Band of Brothers. You're also in the forests of Bastogne on December 24 when the germans barrage and attack you like in Band of Brothers.

Play Spearhead after watching Band of Brothers and you will see the similarities

Nope

Actually, it's no coincidence.  If you watch the credits of MOHAA it's very clearly stated
Created by Steven Spielberg

I wonder what that guy did... ::)

MOHAA and MOHAAS were blatantly based on saving private ryan and Band of Brothers....

Its just a shame that in Spearhead there are windmills in normandy AND there sten MkII is infact a MkI.

OK, you guys all seem to be well versed in the MOHAA games.  I was just wondering what you favorite weapon in it is?  Mine is the German STG 44 Assualt Rifle.  I just love it, I think it's the most useful gun in the game.  I only wish it could be found earlier in the game than it is (but that wouldn't be historically accurate).
