Your Most Memorable Flight Sim Moments

Postby AsilLoony » Tue Jun 11, 2024 9:34 am

I thought it would be fun to start a discussion and share some of our most memorable moments in the world of flight simulation. Whether it's a breathtaking scenic flight over the Swiss Alps, a challenging crosswind landing at Kai Tak, or a successful emergency landing after engine failure, we all have those moments that stick with us.

For me, it's gotta be c.2008 at FS Vintage Air. The iron man flight re-enacts the group of B-17s that arrived at Pearl Harbor in between the Japanese attack waves. 13.5 hours in the air overnight with some great guys.

Flying a C-141 in Greenland at night and seeing a meteor shower. Don't know if FSX does it randomly but rarely or if it's keyed on a schedule of recurring meteor showers. Quite a surprise.

On the grim side, losing control of a Myashishchev M-53 SST during climb-to-cruise, in X-Plane. Like Air France flight 447, went down over the Atlantic. Felt awful for the passengers.
