Price Hike?

I always get confused by the way Americans display their currency!....
Dollars, Cents, Nickles, Dimes, Quarters, Bucks...etc...etc..?
Too many commas and zeros!...
...!
We used to display Pounds, Shillings, and Pence.
£5/2S/5P. (Five Pounds, Two Shillings, and Five Pence).
Now its "Metricated" into £5.25P. (Shillings has been dropped).
Queen Victoria was not amused!....

I still use the old Imperial measurements for all my stuff!...

....apart from Engine Displacements, which has always been in Cubic Centimetres (cc), rather than in Cubic Inches (ci).
(Note: Metres...NOT Meters!).
(Saint Louis = Saint Looee...NOT Saint Looiss!).
