Good News

Postby Shadowcaster » Fri Oct 05, 2018 9:32 am

Well the results have come back and it's looks like I'm a lucky chap. I had two tumours removed from my bladder both of which are a low risk of recurring, and yesterday I had the Sigmoidoscopy where they removed a polyps which looked to be benign. I have to have regular check-ups but it's a small price to pay. It's been a worrying time for us but I'm glad I had the tests and can now look forward again, I feel that a great weight has been lifted from my shoulders. If it has taught me anything, it's that if your are in any doubt about getting a check up, just do it, the earlier it's looked at the better.

Now off to take the pup for a gently stroll and try to get fitter. 8-) :D

Cheers
Rich

Really great to hear good news about your condition, I can understand the thrill of being able to be able to keep seeing the sun and grass and making those great flights again without having something staring at you like "The Legion of Doom"! Thanks for letting use know Rich

That's a good excuse to keep casting the shadow out and about... and may it all be benign...

That's great news Rich! Very glad to hear you're in good health.

We've been having a bit of a time in our hut too. My Mrs. went in for her annual Mammogram and they found a small questionable mass in a location that's very prone to developing cancer.
Her subsequent biopsy confirmed that it's precancerous. She has an appointment with a surgeon this coming week to discuss further procedures.
On a positive note the doctor said there wasn't any blood vessels in the mass nor was it attached to any milk glands so the chance of it spreading is next to nil.

The doctor also said that a standard Mammogram probably wouldn't have detected the mass because it is rather small but they had given her a 3D Mammogram which is much better at detecting abnormalities. So gents tell your Mrs if they have the option of getting a 3D vs a standard Mammogram tell them to go for the 3D. It's a much more detailed examination.
