>>>
http://www.kron4.com/news/national/astr ... 1100202221 It's named; "Icarus".
It's nine billion Light-Years away!....

...

...

...!
One Light Year distance: 186,000 Miles per Second for one year.
Number of seconds in one year multiplied by nine billion.
Its too far away.
..and it costs too much petrol to get there!...

...!
Be satisfied with being; "down here"....

Good Morning Paul
Astronomers recently used the Hubble Space Telescope and identified the most distant star that has ever been observed.
It has been named “Icarus” and is nine billion light years away from Earth.
Funny the Inhabitants of that planet call it "Home"
Would have to fuel my trusty DE Havilland of Canada DHC-3 "Otter" 2X to get there from here I guess

I love reading all this stuff...>>>
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-43648152 It reminds me that my energy is not wasted, and the probability of me falling into a; "Black Hole" in the centre of our Milky Way Galaxy is extremely unlikely!.....

....
That's always a very welcome thought on a Thursday morning when the Sun is shining....trust me...

Paul....

P.S...who dreams up all this "stuff" now that Stephen Hawking has left our shores and retired to Alpha Centauri?....

Google: How long does it take light to travel 1 billion light years?
"There are 6 trillion miles in a light-year (approximately), so the distance we need to go is 6 trillion miles / light-year times 4 light-years, or 24 trillion miles. So, this trip would take 1.2 billion hours. There are 24 hours a day and 365.25 days per year, so this time in years is 137 thousand years."
So 137,000 x 9 = 1,233,000. At 186,000 mps, miles per second.
Did I get that right? Ran out of Neutrinos this morning, without 'em for breakfast, my math doesn't do well.

Icarus was the wax winged boy of whom ignored his fathers advice and flew too close to the sun. I have always listened to my fathers advice until I met Linda.

I am trying to pop in again from time to time. I have so much to do, I need at least 35 hours in a day. My MGB is still coming on. Just about ready for paint....Unfortunately my bank balance is not....
And the rubber, always the right side down....
