...and the shortest day!

For the next few days nothing much will change, but after that, the days will all be getting gradually longer again, and Spring will be on its way!

...always a good sign for me!

Mustn't get too excited yet, though, there's still time for Winter to rear its ugly head without much notice!

Paul.... :D ....!

You might enjoy this article from the Washington Post (no politics!): https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/capital-weather-gang/wp/2017/12/21/winter-solstice-2017-five-things-you-should-know-about-the-shortest-day-of-the-year/?utm_term=.d3ada02f579a

Note that it will show some Washington, DC, weather info. The Firefox Reader View helps.

Nebraska!.... ....!

So, that is the place that we see in those Hollywood films, where all that corn is growing high!

Funny old place; Nebraska! .... :o ....!

Its never in the news, and I don't think that anyone actually lives there!

...or maybe they are all hiding in amongst that tall corn!

The US State that's easy to forget it exists.... :( ....!

A long while ago I was informed that Iowa produced more corn than Nebraska and it's nearly as flat, howbeit across the river.
A NH video rental owner once told me he thought the movie scene where a fellow tied a rope around his waist so he wouldn't be lost in the blizzard
was just for dramatic effect. I told him that I actually heard the news report in Nebraska when a man died from exposure because he couldn't find his way in the harsh blizzard wind to his house from the barn, a distance of about 100 feet.

A lot of people are going to miss Barb's "special" Christmas brownies and cookies. Not to mention the aroma coming from the kitchen... Very... herbal... :P
