Watch everything your doctor does in times that you consult him/her for minor stuff, and that way, build trust. So if your doctor doesn't do well to, let's say, a minor flu episode, then ask yourself how he/she would handle something much more serious. A second opinion is always an option.
That's what I did in 1990 after 4 days of 102 fever, followed by 99 temps at night and a lot of coughed and chest congestion. My doc said, just ride it out. I saw a lung specialist who sat me down for 20 minutes asking questions, then examined me thoroughly, then sent me next door for xrays, then prescribed some basic meds and said, "The Xrays do not show anything serious, but these meds will help and fix you up.
My regular doc there was very competent, of that I had no doubt. No schlock doc there. So why not call it like the lung doc did? I don't know. And why did that same doc tell me I need cholesterol meds, when my current doc finds me just in peachy health all around, no meds needed for anything.
But as I said, my regular doc there was very competent, connected to the right hospital, etc.
When I started Medicare, I had to get another doc according to my Plan, which is exactly what I wanted, a new doc. My current doc is very good, no miscalls. I would have dumped the competent former doc sooner, but had no health issues, therefore no reason to.
So you need to be your own physician at all times. If your doc does not or cannot talk to your face the way you would, get another doc.

My warning to all you Blokes out there ....

If you find that it is gradually taking you longer and longer to have a Pee every time you go to the Toilet....

....then it's time for a quick visit to the doctor to explain to him (her) what your problem is!
A quick, painless check will detect if you are having problems with your Prostate Gland...>>>

...!
A quick check found that there were no other problems (Prostrate Cancer) and a daily medication (Doxazosin tablet) keeps the system in good working order....no more problems! ...

There you go, Chums...Prostrate Cancer is our biggest killer, so, any problems in that area, get to the Doctor.....QUICK!.....

Go and see your Doctor? Oh yeah, you’ll be prost
rate all right – when he sticks his finger up you’re a**e!
Been there, done that, still slightly anally retentive!
