Shady Characters...

Postby Fozzer » Fri May 26, 2017 11:09 am

Sunny, and 80 Degrees Fahrenheit for a change, (Imperial Stuff) in England today....

So we/I now observe the usual crowd of very strange folks wearing Sun Glasses ("Shades" in the USA) balanced on top of their heads!

Very strange, as their eyes are obviously situated in the centre of their faces... :o ...!

...does it look; "Cool".... ....

...NOPE!.... ;) ...!

Sunglasses don’t cut it for me; I need more protection from dangerous radiation. I would definitely get one of these if I were super rich!

Although I am of the; "brunette" variety, my arms are covered with Freckles and Moles, so I have to keep well covered-up when out in direct sunlight, to avoid painful and dangerous blisters.
A long-sleeved shirt is mandatory when the Sun is shining...

...a hat on my head...and no Sunglasses (prescription Spectacles).

At the moment, I have no wish to be in Southern Arizona...its plenty warm enough here!... :o ...!

In the Winter I long for hot weather (Southern Arizona?)....and when Summer arrives I have to keep finding some shade to hide in!

Super-Sensitive Skin!

One can tell from the few old b/w pxs of her that my paternal gram's skin shade was quite darker than the rest of us. Although it seems she may have died with diabetic complications, what I've been told about her indicates she withstood hot days in the sun better than the rest of us and that her dad, winter or summer, had the inclination to take sunny day trips to town wearing no shirt. I, however, got badly sunburned within five minutes in a small waterfall pool while off duty on Guam; pain or no, I was threatened with court-martial if I didn't take my station back on duty...
I now have cataracts encircling the visible rims of my eyeballs which can cause blinding light refraction at certain angles if I don't wear sun glasses. The hair on my head has been receding from the light for much longer than I've needed sunglasses, Mr. Fosbery, but I still have enough of it to protect my pate from sunburn -- so my sunglasses are worn where they can protect my vision, not as a partial headband...

;)

Actually.... ....

..my most "comfortable" temperature, is the temperature throughout my house.

Temperature set at 20*C. (68*-72*F.). Central Heating.

Below that I'm too cold.
Above that I'm too hot.

Today has been mostly poo, with a temperature of 60*F... ...!

My body, (and my skin) is mostly happy at 20*C (70*F).... ...!

Paul.....Temperature-sensitive.... ;) ...!
