Actually from what I read about the incident a passenger did say he'd do it for $1200 but the agent said they weren't authorized to go that high.
That was the standard at NWA too if I remember correctly.

An Aircraft Mechanic only needs two tools, Duct Tape and WD40.
If it moves and it's not supposed to - use the Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and it's supposed to - use the WD40.

Sounds like a reversal of the old navy impressment routine. Instead of conking him out and bringing him in they'd conk him out and give him the old heave ho. :lol:
