Thinly sliced cheese and onion, heaped up in alternate layers on a baking tray.

In the oven, Gas Mark 5, for 25-30 minutes until melted

Serve on a hot plate, with fresh bread and butter.

A popular English Supper treat from way back... ;) ...!

Tastes wonderful...especially the crispy bits!

I’m glad someone’s still eating good old English food, no matter how unhealthy the barmpots claim it is! Gotta love those crispy burnt bits :D

Cheese and red wine for supper = sweet dreams

Gonna give that a go Paul,  although I will need to cook the onions more, for some reason the only way I like em is well cooked, even better with a nice piece of steak (on special offer from Tesco's ;) ).

Cheers

Give it a try Rich....

Large strong onion.
Block of Medium Cheddar Cheese.

With a very sharp kitchen knife, slice the onions and cheese very thinly, and lay them in alternate layers, heaped up, on a baking tray....
After 30 minutes at gas mark 5, the heap will melt together, and the thin onions will be very soft!
Lift it out with a flat spatula onto a pre-heated plate, (Always use a hot plate for hot meals!).
...and enjoy with some fresh crusty bread and butter, and a glass of what you fancy!

Brings joy to your heart...and remember, all members of the onion family are very good to keep your tummy in very good order...trust me!
Onions, Leeks, Garlic, etc.... :D ...!

Paul....The onion smell will disappear from you, after constant consumption over a period of time.....trust me!... ;) .... ....!
