Wonderful stuff,  although I can't help but think he will probably be sued by the thief for injuries sustained in the pursuit.

This guy was in the right place at the right time, so 3 cheers for him. Nice to be a hero if the occasion arises, but the way attorneys these days also arise to the occasion, and if the perp there had been seriously injured, I'd say Shadowcaster's comment about a lawsuit is the sign of our times. Had the perp fractured his skull when hitting the ground it might have been a different story. You gotta be careful. Not meaning to throw a damper on this guy's heroism, which I think is really cool, but unless someone's life is in clear danger, it's the person involved, not the bicycle, that's utmost in importance, and it sounds like the woman was not herself in harm's way. But my guess is that he would have done the same even if thinking about a lawsuit. Unfortunately, we, the victims, are not fully and properly protected by the laws that be, and those laws can turn on us even when we try to do the right thing.

But this guy is a real hero because he acted spontaneously in a situation he probably didn't have an advance plan for.

Better he suffer the embarrassment of being caught by a cowpuncher, than being clotheslined by a bystander, or worse yet, being hit by a Police cruiser as he attempted to get away.

In any case, BURN HIM ANYWAY! Bike thieves deserve what they get for Velonapping! Put the perp's index finger in between the chain & Lg. Chainring up front, and honk on the Pedals once... that'll learn him!

AARRGH!

Unfortunately,Shadowcaster is right. It is the same
wherever you go.The creep who commits the crime
becomes the victim. The Legal types are always ready to
strike like a viper.
Long live the HEROES.There is still a bit of decency left
in this world.

Anthin,being somewhat angry.
